Memphis in third place in the top scorers list after two goals against Belgium | NOW

Thanks to his two goals in the Nations League match against Belgium (1-4), Memphis Depay has climbed to third place on the all-time top scorers list of the Orange. The attacker leaves Patrick Kluivert behind and only has Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Robin van Persie ahead of him.

The 28-year-old Memphis scored the second Orange goal of the evening in the 51st minute by hitting Belgian goalkeeper Simon Mignolet face to face. In the 65th minute he was the scorer of the 0-4 on a pass from Daley Blind.

The evening could have been even better for Memphis if he had also been allowed to score a penalty in the first half, as referee José María Sánchez planned after an alleged handball by Timothy Castagne. The penalty was canceled after consultation with VAR.

Memphis is the only player from the top ten of the top scorers list who is still active. The FC Barcelona attacker needs one more goal to level with Huntelaar and has to score nine more to equal Van Persie.
