Saul’s short memory no longer works. He is only 52 years old, but a diagnosis of early dementia condemns him to walk around with a phone number hanging around his neck. Sylvia’s long-term memory, however, was diluted in alcohol and in distrust to forget a painful past. In which perhaps Saul has something to do, perhaps not.
The meeting between these two lost souls produces a chemical reaction and the technical proof of a love. The Mexican director of New order for the first time it lays the foundation of hope within a relationship.

The new generation, represented by Sylvia’s daughter, demands to look at the world with new eyes. And plan a future without trauma. Sarsgaard deserved the Volpi cup in Venice 2023.
