Memorial plaque for poet Luuk Gruwez

Luuk Gruwez is a prose writer and essayist, but above all a poet. In 2009 he won the Audience Award Herman de Coninck with his poem ‘Mothers’.

His roots are in Krombeke and Deerlijk. Both locations occasionally appear in his oeuvre. Gruwez has lived in Limburg since the 1970s, but he is proud of his West Flemish roots, and also of the memorial plaque at his parental home, in the Hoogstraat in Deerlijk.
