Member of Parliament Agnes Joseph leaves the NSC group for that of BBB. Joseph immediately joins the BBB. On the electoral list of that party, she will be in eighth place in the upcoming parliamentary elections in October, so was announced on Wednesday evening.
As a NSC MP, Joseph gained familiarity during the pension debates. She wanted to arrange through an amendment that there would be more participation from citizens for the transition to a new pension system. That proposal was narrowly voted out.
With her plan, Joseph went against the pension policy of party mate and Minister of Social Affairs Eddy van Hijum. Due to the disagreement about the pension system within the party, Joseph decided not to be eligible before. In addition, Van Hijum undoubtedly played the leader of NSC in the upcoming elections.
Lodders
The addition of Joseph to BBB is the second transition in a short time. On Tuesday it was announced that former VVD MP Helma Lodders is switching to the party of Caroline van der Plas. Lodders becomes a list pusher at BBB. She cancel her membership at the VVD because of another personal position on the agricultural and nitrogen policy.
Lodders was in the Chamber on behalf of the VVD from 2010 to 2021. After her parliamentary work, she became a lobbyist for the trade association for providers of games of chance and the association for livestock sports.
