Nothing is yet known about the cause of the fire. The police are investigating this. The fire brigade warns that the fire has released glass shards from solar panels. These have been found in the area.
The fire broke out around 4:15 p.m. in the village of Zwaanshoek in the municipality of Haarlemmermeer. There is a site on the Hillegommerdijk with several companies on it. In any case, there was a fire at construction company S. Tebbens and a garage.
The fire has not yet spread to the adjacent Global Garden garden center. The extent of the damage is not yet known. Photos do show that the roof of one of the companies has partly collapsed.
The fire also released a lot of smoke. Two NL Alerts about this went off earlier today. The warning to close doors and windows has now been withdrawn.
