The leader of the Brothers of Italy receives the symbolic bell that ratifies her as Prime Minister
The leader of the Brothers of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, received this Sunday from the hands of former Prime Minister Mario Draghi the symbolic bell that finishes off the ceremony of transfer of powers and finishes ratifying her as prime minister of the country.
This bell is the one used by the Prime Minister to mark the start of the meetings of the Council of Ministers, such as the one that will take place this Sunday, the first that Meloni will chair after sworn in this past Saturday.
Meloni and Draghi have held an hour of private meeting, of which no details have emerged, before the public ceremony at the Chigi Palace.
After the ceremony, Meloni began his meeting this afternoon with his cabinet, which was also sworn in on Saturday. The new Italian government, the most right-wing since the post-war period, has been formed thanks to the support of La Liga and Forza Italia, the formation of Silvio Berlusconi.
