Actress Melissa Joan Hart (“Sabrina – Totally Bewitched!”) lives in Nashville, Tennessee. There, a killing spree took place in the “Covenant School”, a Christian elementary school, last Monday (March 27). A 28-year-old man gained access to his former school at around 10:15 a.m. local time and shot three children and three caregivers there. He himself died during the subsequent police operation.

Police officer in charge of the investigation, John Drake, said that part of the evacuation protocol in such cases was for everyone present to retreat to a wooded area behind the building. This apparently borders directly on a highway, where Hart, as she reported in a video on her Instagram channel on Wednesday (March 29), intervened to help. She accompanied “a group of kindergarten children” on the busy road. “They climbed out of a wooded area trying to escape the situation at their school. So we helped all these little kids and their teachers cross the street.”

Her own children go to school not far away, but luckily stayed at home that day. Hart is a longtime supporter of stricter gun laws in the United States. She first moved to Nashville in 2012 as a result of the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting. In this case, too, their children were barely affected. She also discussed the events at length in the current episode of her podcast What Women Binge.

According to information from theGun Violence Archive” this year it was the 129th gun incident in the United States in which at least four people were injured. As a result, US President Joe Biden again appealed for stricter regulations on gun ownership.
