They are not exactly among the most intelligent stars in the country: Andy van der Meijde and Melisa Schaufeli, known for their own real life soap Andy & Melisa on SBS 6. The two are now featured in a double interview in the VARA guide, which shows that Melisa is not even understand how a remote control works.

Remote control

For that reason, Melisa cannot watch TV when Andy is not at home. “I don’t really know how the remote works, so I can’t watch anything if you’re not there,” she explains.

Andy is the boss of the remote. How does his TV day start? “In the morning I really have to watch the news, I always start my day with that, which also has something autistic. I get up, make coffee and then go back to bed to watch the RTL Nieuws. That is really my moment of rest.”

without a trace

Melisa watches little television, except in the winter. “In the winter we really watch what is on television at that time, so linearly. Programs such as Spoorloos and De Rijdende Rechter are favorites. A lot of real things, we like to look at that.”

Andy adds: “And we watch a lot of series on Netflix, especially in bed at night. Just nice and cozy. Everything also on Videoland, which is a bit hot at the time. On Videoland we like to watch Mocro mafia, Ferry, that kind of series. And sometimes we also look at Temptation Island. Nice to see how that goes in a villa like this.”

Temptation Island

Temptation Island sounds like nice superficial television where Andy and Melisa would fit well. Don’t they listen to that? “We would never participate in that ourselves, but it is fun television.”
