Meilandjes disappoint, continue to score below their own lower limit

The Meilandjes continue to score below their own lower limit of one million viewers. Are they in a temporary dip or are these scores the new reality for Chateau Meiland?

Martien Meiland and his family have become accustomed to scores of well over one million viewers in recent years, but they do not want to succeed this season. The kick-off of the new season attracted 887 thousand viewers two weeks ago and 922 thousand people watched last week. Yesterday there were 888 thousand (18 percent market share).

Below the lower limit

They are anything but bad scores, especially for SBS 6, but it is below the lower limit of one million viewers set by Martien himself. “As long as we score well above the million, we will keep going,” he said in an interview just before the start of the new season.

These kinds of scores are no longer the case. Still, viewing figure authority Tina Nijkamp hopes for SBS 6 that they will continue. “Hopefully for SBS 6, Martien will not stick to his agreement to stop among the million viewers, because in the commercial target group 20 to 54 years it still scores a decent 17.4 percent market share.”

Checkout surprised

Kassa, which will be relegated to NPO 2 by the public broadcaster next year, yesterday had an excellent 1.5 million viewers (30 percent) on the main NPO 1 network. “Remarkable: no less than 300 thousand viewers more than last week. Why remarkable? Competitors Chateau Meiland and Expedition Robinson are just losing viewers.”

Expedition Robinson has fallen to 776 thousand viewers (16 percent) on RTL 4. The winners at half past nine were NPO 1’s Het Familiediner (944 thousand and 20 percent) and SBS 6’s Today Inside (779 thousand and 17 percent).

Jinek not in top 15

According to Tina, Eva Jinek continues to suffer a lot from Arjen Lubach. Where it did not get a place in the daily top 15 with 654 thousand viewers (20 percent), he is at the top with 946 thousand viewers (24 percent). “Jinek is directly opposite Lubach every day and viewing figures suffer enormously.”

“The Evening Show with Arjen Lubach is for NPO 1 what VI is for SBS 6: an amazing hit and good for above-average scores every day. It also ensures that Op1 has started to score better. An earlier start time would be better for Jinek, because 654 thousand viewers and 17.2 percent in the target group is ok but not great.”
