Jan Dijkgraaf, the biographer of the Meilandjes, opens the attack on John de Mol. He supports the resistance against the conscious choice of the media billionaire to keep Peter Gillis in the saddle.

There is a report of ten assaults by Peter Gillis with the police and despite the fact that this is only one of the many controversies surrounding him, media billionaire John de Mol consciously chooses to keep his reality star in the saddle. According to critics, it probably has to do with a poignant lack of ethical awareness.

Woman-beater

Jan Dijkgraaf, the biographer of the Meilandjes, agrees with the fierce criticism of John. “You have your own Quincy Promes walking around at SBS 6,” he writes in his infamous column. “I’m talking, of course, about the womanizer. ‘Petertje’, as he calls himself. That hog of a Gillis, I mean.”

It caused astonishment two years ago that Quincy was selected for the European Football Championship, despite being suspected of stabbing his cousin. He was sentenced to a year and a half in prison this week. “’You are innocent as long as you have not yet been convicted’, the then national coach vomited cliché”, writes Jan.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Exactly the same sound is now being heard by John. He thinks it’s all a ‘private matter’ and points out that Peter hasn’t been convicted yet. “What does it say about you that, as a true Caterpillar Never Enough, you would rather grab a few extra pennies as long as that grease pipe has not been convicted, than that you proactively show that you have learned from the scandal at The Voice?”

A lot, says Jan. “At least that you have gathered too many people around you who have no decency whatsoever.”
