Jan Dijkgraaf, the biographer of the Meilandjes, agrees with the fierce criticism of John. “You have your own Quincy Promes walking around at SBS 6,” he writes in his infamous column. “I’m talking, of course, about the womanizer. ‘Petertje’, as he calls himself. That hog of a Gillis, I mean.”
It caused astonishment two years ago that Quincy was selected for the European Football Championship, despite being suspected of stabbing his cousin. A lot, says Jan. “At least that you have gathered too many people around you who have no decency whatsoever.”
