On deciding whether Prince Harry will join his father, the King Charles’s, for the coronation in London or not, we had to wait a long time. In fact, the answer did not come until nine days after the notification deadline.
Harry will attend the coronation on May 6, but his wife Meghan will stay with the family’s children in the United States.
It is currently unclear what role Prince Harry will play in the coronation. Since he and Meghan left the British court in 2020, he has no official work commitments to attend to during the ceremony. Harry will also not be seen waving with the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, because they can only get there when they are actively working at court.
Harry’s relationship with his family is not rosy. Harry has burned bridges by making outrageous statements about the court and the royals in general.

According to sources, the king is said to be “probably delighted” by Harry’s participation in the coronation. Meghan’s absence is also considered a good solution. Harry and Meghan participating together could have caused chaos and attention could have been directed to the wrong things.
Catherine, in particular, is said to be very relieved that Meghan will be absent from the coronation.
As Harry’s Deputy book shows, Catherine and Meghan were often on a collision course while the Duke and Duchess were still living in Britain. Whereas Catherine dressed formally even for the couples’ mutual dinners, Meghan appeared barefoot and in torn jeans, which Catherine did not approve of.
In the American way, Meghan is also hard to hug, Catherine is not. Kate also did not tolerate all the topics of conversation brought up by Meghan, which she considered too intrusive.
The dispute over the bridesmaids’ dresses during Meghan and Harry’s wedding is also still rubbing off on the women.
The last time Catherine and Meghan met was at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. Catherine is said to have found the meeting awkward.
Meghan’s absence from the coronation is justified by the fact that she wants to be present at her son Archie’s birthday, which falls on the same date.
