The German U17 footballers managed a clear victory at the start of the European Championship qualification.
Coach Christian Wück’s team beat hosts Moldova 4-0 (2-0) and initially took the lead in the qualifying group ahead of Latvia.
Dortmund’s Paris Brunner (2nd minute), Max Moerstedt from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim with a brace (29th/57th) and Robert Ramsak from FC Bayern Munich (73rd) scored the goals for the youth selection of the German soccer team in Orhei Federal.
The upcoming opponents for the DFB team are Latvia in Chisinau on Saturday (12:00 p.m.) and Slovakia again in Chisinau on Tuesday (12:00 p.m.). The two best teams in each of the 13 groups of four and the four best third-placed teams qualify for the next qualifying stage, the so-called elite round. This will be played in spring 2023, and the EM will then take place in Hungary from May 17 to June 2, 2023.
