Meesseman beats ex-team in WNBA

Meesseman played for the Washington Mystics between 2013 and 2020. The Belgian Cat had a very successful period in Washington with the title in 2019 and the prize for MVP of the final that year. She didn’t play a WNBA last year to focus on the Olympic campaign with the Belgian Cats and in the off-season she made the switch to Chicago Sky, the reigning champion.

Meesseman and assistant Ann Wauters will soon be joined by a third compatriot in Chicago. Julie Allemand missed the French title in the play-off final with ASVEL on Saturday and will soon travel to the United States. Chicago is third in the WNBA standings, with seven wins and three losses. On Wednesday, the team will make the move to Washington.
