Meerkamper Rik Taam has withdrawn from the European Athletics Championships for day two of the decathlon. The athlete from De Rijp is suffering from a heel injury.
The 25-year-old North Hollander had a good start to the decathlon on Monday and was sixth in the general classification after the first day.
On Tuesday, hurdler Koen Smet qualified for the semi-finals in the 110 meter hurdles. He ran a time of 13.88 and that was just enough for the semi-final.
Lieke Klaver from Enkhuizen managed to qualify for the final in the 400 meter hurdles. The Dutch Femke Bol is also in the final battle.
