The Medion Akoya impresses with format and versatility
In terms of colors, the display is not the very best, but it is completely appropriate for the price and given the current delivery bottlenecks. The memory is also comparatively small at 128 GB, not to mention the 4 GB of RAM. The Medion Akoya is not overly fast. Replacing the RAM is difficult because the main memory is permanently soldered on this notebook. The SSD can be replaced relatively easily if someone wants more storage than the specified 128 GB. The battery performance is relatively average.
The Medion Akoya certainly offers advantages with its practical 14-inch format, which fits in any normal backpack. The notebook is nice and compact and light thanks to the aluminum-plastic mix. The controller on the side, which activates the privacy mode, is also practical, for example to switch off the camera and microphone immediately.
Conclusion: Is the Aldi offer worth it?
If you are looking for a cheap entry-level laptop for everyday use, you should definitely take a closer look at the Medion Akoya E13308 from Aldi. The notebook has a practical size and is equipped with all necessary functions. The display quality is completely sufficient for text editing, photos or even video streaming. However, the laptop is not suitable for small-scale photo editing or gaming.
In terms of price, the Aldi offer is up to a few cents at the price that Medion itself charges for the laptop. However, the 299 euros at Aldi Nord also includes a Microsoft annual subscription worth around 56 euros, which is not available directly from the manufacturer. The laptop from Aldi is therefore suitable for anyone who is looking for a suitable everyday companion in a timely manner, which does not deliver outstanding quality, but works reliably and is ideal for normal office or university activities and is of a practical size. Overall, very good value for money.
