Luuk Dresen, who won the Talent of the Year prize from Chantal Janzens magazine last year, passed away yesterday at the age of 27. “Unbelievably cruel and harsh,” the presenter responds.
A month ago, Luuk Dresen was still in the talk show HLF8 to talk about his new podcast De H van Hetero. Fellow guests Barbara Barend and John de Bever got into a fight about this subject. He is also known for the YouTube channel Nieuwe Guests and the online series Hart op de Tong van Hart van Nederland.
Love sickness
Luuk also made the podcast Lekker Lullen together with colleague Lieke Augustijn. In the latest episode, which appeared yesterday on the day of his death, he tells extensively about his heartbreak. “To be honest, my week was not that much fun. I am not doing very well at the moment.”
What was going on? “I was dating a girl and I was already kind of crazy about her and she cut it off early this week. That took a toll on me.”
Emotional
It was a tough week for Luke. “It has been quite a thing for me in recent years that it never worked out for me in love,” he explains in the podcast. “It had been a long time since I had the feeling that it was going to work and with this girl it was, so I actually had for the first time in five years that I was really in love again.”
Then Luke breaks. “I’m getting a little emotional about it, I’m sorry about that. Well, not at all sorry. You can always get emotional and that’s okay. (…) The start of my week was not very good and I still feel pretty shit about that.”

Many celebrities react defeated. “Dear Luuk, what an unimaginable amount of loved ones you will leave behind with great sorrow, because I think you were loved by so many. You only turned 27,” says Chantal Janzen. “Difficult to understand. Incredibly cruel and harsh. I will never forget your smile and infectious enthusiasm.”
