The Media Inside duo Gijs Groenteman and Marcel van Roosmalen responded in their talk show yesterday to René van der Gijp’s fierce criticism against them. “No, that doesn’t affect us.”
Marcel van Roosmalen is not exactly a stranger to the men of Today Inside: he has been a regular guest in their program. However, the VI stars are not impressed by what Marcel is currently doing together with Gijs Groenteman on the Sunday evening of NPO 3. There they make the live talk show Media Inside.
Criticism of Media Inside
VI guest Job Knoester thinks it’s bad television. He said last week: “I always like Marcel van Roosmalen, but I thought there was no energy in it. Greengrocer sat with his head on his hand throughout the broadcast. And there were two guys who didn’t say anything and if they said something, they intervened.”
Johan Derksen: “That is not the intention when Marcel is speaking to say something in between.”
Wilfred Genee: “Live is quite difficult if you’re not used to it, of course, isn’t it?”
‘They really want to’
Johan: “Yes, and those two want them very much, don’t they? They do all kinds of things, don’t they, just the two of them.”
Job: “They didn’t really radiate that, that they really wanted it. They didn’t have that look.”
Johan: “Yes, but they really want to go to a daily talk show.”
Inconceivable, René van der Gijp thinks: “Have fun, dude, no dude.”
Johan: “Yes, he is really working on that.”

Wilfred: “I understand that maybe they could do Op1, but that they didn’t want to or something.”
René: “No dude, stop it, please.”
Wilfred: “Isn’t that possible?”
René: “No, of course not. They probably aren’t bad guys, but it’s TV for sleeping pills, isn’t it?
Johan: “It’s a bit of a VPRO audience, Marcel van Roosmalen.”
Job: “Yes, but even before that I thought it was slow.”
Wilfred also made it clear that he does not know whether Gijs Groenteman is called Groenteman or Groenteboer.

The latter is a bit bland, Marcel responded in Media Inside yesterday. “A bit of a lame joke from Wilfred to do that. For the rest: Job Knoester is absolutely right. Incredibly honorable, Gijs, to be discussed by these kinds of people. I liked it very much.
Gijs: “Job Knoester kicked us all in the ground.”
Marcel: “It’s nice that he says that. He likes that.”
‘Doesn’t bother us’
Media Inside guest Margje Fikse: “This really doesn’t bother you?”
Gijs: “No, of course not. Why should this affect us? That René van der Gijp thinks we can’t present a talk show? I don’t know. We are sitting here with a huge crowd, people really eat out of our hand. Surely we can present a talk show, Marcel?”
Marcel: “I don’t know, but we are doing it.”
