Music association Amoroso from Roswinkel received the Royal Medal of Honor this afternoon. The association received the medal of honor because of its centenary on December 20, 2020. The medal was awarded by the King’s Commissioner Jetta Klijnsma.
From the moment of foundation, Amoroso and Roswinkel have been closely connected. Amoroso, often under her Drenthe name ‘Roswinkeler Bloaskapel’, is present at every event that is important for village life, the school and other associations. This varies from King’s Day and the King’s Games to the arrival of Sinterklaas and accompanying the Christmas musical and the Christmas night service. This interplay has great value for the village of Roswinkel, but also for the municipality of Emmen.
Amoroso has had its own youth orchestra with 9 youth members since 2019. As a result, the board is convinced that the association will continue to play a connecting role in the future. In addition, they have an eye for associations in the area, with which they work together in the field of music.
