Mechanic Erwin is looking for new colleagues: ‘Because of the variety, I enjoy my work every day’

A close-knit family business: that is RECO. No day is the same at this technical company, which is now run by the third generation. You are appreciated, you can continue to develop and you get the freedom you deserve. Does this sound like music to your ears? Good news: they are still looking for fellow mechanics!

RECO includes several companies, including RECO Lift Solutions in Waddinxveen and RECO Materieelverhuur in Koudekerk aan den Rijn. When you start working at Lift Solutions, you will place a temporary passenger lift at an apartment complex or a platform lift at the Zandvoort circuit, for example. RECO Materieelverhuur rents out the equipment for construction projects and events, such as construction site furnishing and construction elevators. Can’t choose? look at the open vacancies once.

Junior and senior mechanics

Whether you want to work indoors or outdoors: you can do both, because RECO is looking for technicians for the field service and in the workshop. Naomi van Raffe, corporate recruiter, explains: “For example, we train a junior mechanic who does not yet have all the qualifications or a baker with an interest in technology. With us there is no experience, no problem! With our work-study trajectories you learn all the tricks of the trade while applying it in practice. Are you an experienced mechanic? Very welcome! There are also plenty of growth opportunities for seniors.”

Lots of variety in the work

One of the mechanics who might become your new colleague is Erwin. He started last year as a mechanic in the temporary housing department. At first he mainly carried out jobs in the workshop and now he goes out with his own bus to solve malfunctions in several places. He especially likes the variety in the work. “It makes me want to go to work every day.”

Erwin also benefited from the introductory meeting. “Here you get a good picture of RECO as family business. It is nice that you are there together with other new colleagues. This makes you feel bonded and you get the feeling that you can help each other.”

Family feeling

Because being there for each other and working together as a close team: that suits RECO. “The atmosphere is very informal and cosy, it really feels like family. I could be myself here from the first moment and it was immediately as if I and the team had known each other for years,” says Erwin.

Lots of fun events

Events are often organized to maintain the family feeling and involvement. “We have a very active events committee,” says Naomi. “Every month something fun is organized: karting on our own terraina barbecue, pub quiz or, for example, a family day where everyone is welcome.”

To develop

They also value the opportunity to develop yourself at RECO. They draw up a personal development plan in consultation. You will also be given the opportunity to take courses so that you can develop yourself further. If you happy with your job, then of course you don’t have to. “And are you ready for something else? Then we look together what is needed to grow into a different role.” By really looking at the person and thinking along, many colleagues continue to work there for years. “We regularly have anniversaries of 12.5 and 25 years. Awesome!”

Find your dream job

When you start working as a mechanic, every day looks different. What should you bring? A portion of perseverance, enthusiasm and a good sense of humor. Because you can laugh with your future colleagues!
