“Mean Girls”: Watch their (short) comeback video here

Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert slip into the iconic roles again for a spot.

Lindsay Lohan, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried played “Mean Girls” again. As part of an advertising campaign by the US retail chain Walmart.

Lacey Chabert: “It was so nice to be together again after all these years”

It wasn’t just “Mean Girls” fans who were happy about the brief resurgence of the cult characters. In an interview with “People”, the actors also commented positively on the comeback and explained how “great” the experience was for them to work with “old friends”. Lacey Chabert, who played Gretchen Wieners in the film, also said, “It was wonderful spending the day with Amanda and Lindsay and so much fun reminiscing and being together again.”

“Mean Girls”, which was released in Germany under the title “Girls Club – Be careful!” in 2004, quickly became a cult film of the 2000s. The second part followed in 2011 with a new cast and less hype.

The commercial now features a partial reunion of the original cast for the first time. And for this, well-known scenes from the film were re-enacted and adapted for the Walmart video spot. Karen Smith’s (Amanda Seyfried) iconic weather report as well as the famous “Jingle Bell Rock” performance are revisited.

More about the plot: Actress Lacey Chabert returns to North Shore High School in the new commercial and meets guidance counselor Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan), but also weather reporter Karen (Seyfried) and proud father Kevin Gnapoor (Rajiv Surendra). and best friend Damian (Daniel Franzese).

It continues with “Mean Girls”

This shouldn’t be the only commercial with the “Mean Girls” actors. Walmart now wants to release a new mini-film every Wednesday before “Black Friday”, November 27th, that not only advertises their products, but also pays homage to the cult film.
