Mean Girls are back – This is what the modern-day Mean Girls movie looks like

Pink and the pressures of adolescence return to the big screen in the new version of Mean Girls.

Reneé Rapp plays Regina George, the dullest girl in the movie, who has power at school and in free time together with her pink group. PDO

Popular Mean Girls movie came out in 2004 and brought with it the iconic group of girls dressed in pink, which brought plenty of drama.

Now, 20 years after the release of the film, a modern-day version is released, which is based on both the earlier film and the Broadway musical version made from it. The new Mean Girls will hit theaters in January 2024.

Although musical elements have been introduced into the film and smartphones and social media channels have been added, the plot and characters are still the same.

In the original version, Cady Heron, played by Lindsay Lohan, arrives at a new school, where she tries to fit in with the other students and find her own group of friends. The school is ruled by a group called The Plastics, with whom Heron both befriends and clashes.

After all, it doesn’t suit the notoriously rude girl Regina George that Heron falls in love with her ex-boyfriend Aaron Samuels. And this is how the soup of emotions and situations is already cooked.
