In the mid-noughties, a whole bunch of mostly British bands got us dancing in the indie disco: with The Libertines, Bloc Party, Maximo Park, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys and Co., a wave of new indie rock, new-new, formed -Wave and post-punk bands, which could subsequently be summarized as “Class of 2005”. Who was also part of this movement: Eddie Argos and his band Art Brut from London. On their debut BANG BANG ROCK AND ROLL they created LoFi hits with “Emily Kane”, “My Little Brother” and “Formed A Band”, which gained their appeal from a dilettantish, but euphoric and, above all, humorous momentum.
Since then, Art Brut have released four more records with changing line-ups – Eddie Argos has also been living in Berlin for years. Now they are going on tour with the album that got them the most attention: in October 2022 and February 2023 they will play their full-length debut. The first concert in Hamburg is already sold out, for the other shows there are still tickets available – among other things directly from the tour operator.
