Formula 1 racing team McLaren has apparently moved ashore a new sponsorship partner. As “Sportbusiness” reports, the team teams up with the German sporting goods manufacturer Puma.
Accordingly, McLaren and Puma have signed a “multi -year” contract. The British Renstall ended its cooperation with the British sports brand Castore prematurely, the report says.
From 2026, McLaren would be the fifth Formula 1 team to Ferrari, Aston Martin, Williams and Sauber (Audi), which works with Puma. Mercedes was also part of the previous year, but the silver arrows have been sponsored and equipped by Adidas since this season.
The McLaren-Puma deal should mainly revolve around sponsoring and “off-track” clothing, because in terms of equipment-for example racing gloves and overalls-the racing team is still supplied by the Italian manufacturer Alpinestars.
Castore, with McLaren on board since 2022, will equip the American Haas team from next season.

For Puma, working with McLaren is a success in prestige, after all, the traditional team currently dominates the motorsport king class.
After five Grands Prix, McLaren-Pilot Oscar Piatri leads the driver’s World Cup in front of Garagen-neighbor Lando Norris. McLaren is also clearly at the forefront in the World Cup.
In the current season, McLaren already celebrated four victories (three times Piatri, once Norris), only in Japan world champion Max Verstappen won the Red Bull.
In the pre-season, McLaren ended a long dry spell and for the first time since 1998 the manufacturer’s title in Formula 1. It was the ninth in the history of the racing team once founded by the New Zealand Bruce.
