MBFW moves to the Hotel Telegraphenamt

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (MBFW) Berlin is moving. On Wednesday, the organizers from the Nowadays agency announced that the upcoming edition will take place from September 5th to 7th at the Hotel Telegraphenamt. Six fashion shows and a presentation are on the program in the new location, which is located directly at the central Monbijoupark. According to a statement, the MBFW is the first event in the extensively restored former main telegraph office. Hotel operations are scheduled to start there in the fall.

The move from the Berlin power plant to the new premises reflects “MBFW’s continued focus on contemporary boutique, high fashion and new luxury”, the organizers explained. Marcus Kurz, the managing director of Nowadays, is looking forward to the new venue: “The telegraph office is a real architectural gem,” he said in a statement. “It offers the MBFW and our designers a unique location in the heart of Berlin and perfectly underlines the repositioning of the MBFW boutique format New Luxury.”

Nowadays, the MBFW organizes together with the name sponsor Mercedes-Benz. The event, at which selected designers will present their designs for the spring/summer 2023 season, is being sponsored by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises. The following edition will then take place in mid-January next year, because the MBFW will again be held in the capital at the same time as the fashion fairs of the Premium Group.
