After the bankrupt bar owner Casper Meijbaum filed a complaint against Burmanje last month for an ‘unlawful act’, she also violates the rules when dealing with this, says Meijbaum’s lawyer, Peter Graafstal.
Ermelo must abide by the rules, Graafstal emphasizes, if citizens file a complaint against an administrative body. These rules consist of the law and of decisions taken by the municipal council. According to him, this is now being ignored in Ermelo. Ermelo manifests itself as a ‘free state’, he believes, in which citizens no longer have legal certainty.
