Michiel Uitdehaag, the mayor of Texel, will exchange his current office for one in Venray. That reports the Texelse Courant tonight.
In Venray they indicate that they are happy with the arrival of Uitdehaag, because they see him as a connector who is decisive in the field of care and safety.
Uitdehaag will first be presented to the Minister of the Interior. He then presents it to the king. Uitdehaag is expected to be installed in Venray before the summer holidays.
It is not yet clear who will be his successor. Uitdehaag has been mayor of Texel since 2016.
