It is known that it is a fanatic cyclist. But people in Assen see him walking a lot lately. Together with dog Doeschka. We are talking about Mayor Marco Out. His goal? Track every street of his municipality, and really: he doesn’t skip one.
A year ago he ‘logged’ his first walk on the Fitness app Strava, in which users keep track of their sports activities, such as running, cycling and walking. After such a walk you can see on the app where you came by.
It is out of his ambition to hit every piece of street. “That means that I am walking all the major roads through the forest, but I can also be found in all the fires. So that I really see the whole city, from all sides. I have been living here for years, but I still come across new things. That is so much fun.”
