A house on Isa van Eeghenlaan is closed today by order of the mayor. The house was shot at for the second time in a short time last night.
The emergency services received a report last night around 5 a.m. that the house had been shot at.
Several witnesses reported hearing shots. There was a hole in the window of the house, which was probably caused by a cartridge, according to the police. A bullet and several shell casings were found in the area.
‘Very shocked’
The residents were not injured, but “very shocked,” police said.
In a press release, the municipality of Beverwijk announced that the mayor ‘deems it necessary to close the house in the interest of public order and safety’. This initially happens for a period of two months.
It was not the first time that the house was shot at, the house was also targeted on February 8. The police are investigating whether there is a connection between the two incidents.
