Mayor Bart Tommelein leaves on a trade mission in Japan

Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid and Prime Minister Jan Jambon (N-VA) will be present. As chairman of REBO (Renewable Energy Base Ostend), mayor Bart Tommelein participates in the mission. “Among other things, he will consult with Mitsubishi about the offshore wind installations and the role that both REBO and the Port of Ostend play in this regard. Ostend is a pioneer in the world in that respect, both in terms of the construction of wind farms and maintenance.” it says in the press release.

Dirk Declerck, CEO of Port of Ostend, and Steve Declercq, Business Development Director, will accompany the mayor on this trip. They will participate in a panel discussion on decarbonisation in shipping. In addition, they will visit Daikin. That company also has a branch in the seaside town.
