The Swedish outdoor brand Silva has created a new position to support the team in Germany and Austria: Maximilian Mangold is a new addition to the Silva team and will be responsible for the German and Austrian market as Marketing Coordinator Germany & Austria.
Mangold was most recently a student trainee at tech company Garmin, known for GPS navigation and wearable technology. The main tasks of the Garmisch-Partenkirchner include trade marketing, sponsoring & cooperation, events as well as the development and management of an athlete team.
“As an outdoor enthusiast, Maximilian fits in well with the ambitious Silva team. Sportingly versatile, you can meet 23-year-old Mangold on skis, on his racing bike or mountaineering around Garmisch-Partenkirchen,” says Silva in a press release on the appointment.
The outdoor brand was founded in 1933 with the invention of the first liquid compass. Headlamps followed just two years later and Silva soon made a name for itself as a manufacturer of outdoor equipment. Today the company also offers trekking and hiking poles as well as backpacks, vests and accessories.
Silva made a name for itself in early December 2022 when it announced that it had bought the Swedish equipment brand Primus from the Fenix Outdoor International AG group of companies, which also owns the outdoor brand Globetrotter. The transaction is scheduled to close on April 28, 2023.
