‘Maxime Meiland too emphatically present in soap, stop it!’

Maxime Meiland is constantly fighting behind the scenes for a larger share of the Talpa tons, but according to Privé star journalist Jan Uriot she is not worth it. “Stop it for once!”

The reality series Chateau Meiland was once created thanks to the eccentric paterfamilias Martien Meiland, but also his relatives quickly became real celebrities. Daughter Maxime recently revealed that behind the scenes she has demanded a larger share of the Talpa loot from her parents, because she thinks her role in the series has grown.

Crazy daughter

That’s right, says Private star journalist Jan Uriot, but it doesn’t make him very happy. “I really don’t like the last season at all. What do you see? Wasn’t it about Martin? But we keep seeing that crazy daughter screaming. Max, yes. He is constantly screaming. And that eternal cry for ‘mama’ and ‘papa’. Then I think: hold on…”

Jan tells in the podcast Strictly Private that he is annoyed by the role that Maxime claims. “And at a certain point they no longer know what to do because of craziness, because then they pull the plug out of the vacuum cleaner and then Martien starts thinking: gosh, has the power gone out? That kind of nonsense.”

Annoying dog

Maxime’s dog is also just as annoying as her owner, says Jan. “Then they have a dog that is pooping and pissing everywhere. Maxime has a new dog. It’s called Hummer.”

Colleague Jordi Versteegden finds it particularly worrying that the soap is so far behind reality. “We’ve been looking forward to the opening of Code Rosé all season, 18 episodes long, and last night I thought: well, it’s finally happening, but guess what…”

“Well, say!”

The Chateau season ended with a preview of the new season, in which Code Rosé will finally open. “Well, next season!”, says Jordi.

Jan: “We all already know. We have all been able to read in the Private that it is open, we have seen the photos, we have seen the films. Then I think: the viewer is not retarded, of course.”
