Maxime Meiland is not exactly popular in her hometown of Noordwijk. Story gives one of her fellow villagers a large platform to express her dissatisfaction. “Fantastic!”
It bothers Maxime Meiland immensely that she is by far the least liked member of the Meiland TV family. She almost exclusively receives negative publicity and she will of course have to ask herself where exactly that comes from. An important cause seems to be her somewhat spoiled attitude. She benefits greatly from her parents’ success.
Risk mortgage
Maxime and her boyfriend currently live a little above their means, namely in a city villa worth 2.2 million euros. They got a top mortgage, largely thanks to her TV income. But if Chateau Meiland closes down, can they still pay the bill?
The Party it seriously wonders: “Didn’t they go a bridge too far with this purchase? Even experts could not believe that the bank would grant the couple a mortgage of several million. Their income is very closely linked to the docusoap. Without Chateau Meiland, revenues would decline significantly.”
Angry villager
However, the Meilandjes are known for their desire to move and it would not surprise anyone if they move into even more expensive properties. According to Story the family as a whole would even have their eye on a kind of castle worth 7 million euros. Too big a risk, says a TV insider in the magazine: “Especially because they want to stop reality TV.”
The potential new neighbor of the Meilandjes, who lives in the center of Noordwijk, expresses her dissatisfaction in the Story. “My girlfriend sold her house to Maxime at the time,” said the ‘local source’. “Within a week it became known that it was a bad purchase, because there would be a leak. Well, there were some leaves in the gutter – that’s all.”

Maxime is just making this up, according to the neighborhood source. “The family stages a lot of things to draw attention to themselves. This is not pleasant for someone who has just sold her property; my girlfriend found that very annoying. Her name has been dragged through the mud because of Maxime.”
However, karma is close, thinks the other source, the TV insider. He paints a picture as if Maxime is about to collapse: “Martien is the big star and the rest of the family rides on his success, so the question is whether Maxime remains interesting enough to appear on TV and she will meet Leroy in ten can still pay their fixed costs for years.”
