Maxime Meiland engages lawyer Yvonne Coldeweijer

Maxime Meiland hires the same lawyer as Yvonne Coldeweijer, namely Allon Kijl. “For the time being, we do not want to comment substantively on the matter,” he said.

Maxime Meiland’s unfounded accusation of abuse against a peer has caused quite a stir. She made a lot of money off that story – she hung her entire book on it – but now the accused young man is fed up. He has filed summary proceedings against her, which will be heard on January 19 in The Hague.

Same as Yvonne

Maxime had already hired victim lawyer Sébas Diekstra and now lawyer Allon Kijl has been added, reports Show news. Together, these gentlemen also assist Nicol Kremers. Another striking fact is that Allon Kijl is also the lawyer of the feared juice queen Yvonne Coldeweijer, with whom Maxime says he is in contact.

The reality star recently praised the juice hyena to the heavens and then said she had a direct line, for example when there was a gossip about her car. “’Girl, this isn’t true at all, is it?’, Yvonne sent me, to which I responded: ‘No, I just bought a new car.’ And then she posts that to correct it, which I really like.”

Quite a few lawyers

Private boss Evert Santegoeds thinks that quite a legal circus is slowly breaking out. “Quite a few lawyers are working on it now. Of course this boy’s lawyer is Peter Schouten, but we also spoke with victim lawyer Sébas Diekstra who is assisting her, and for the legal part that is Allon Kijl.”

Sébas and Allon told Shownieuws: “For the time being, we do not want to comment substantively on the issue surrounding the rape of the client. That could harm the client’s position as a victim.”

Not a celebrity

The summary proceedings against Maxime will take place behind closed doors to protect the man she accuses. “Even if he refutes everything that shows that this is an unjustified accusation, there will still be people throughout the country who continue to believe that something happened,” says his lawyer Peter Schouten.

He continues: “It will then be difficult for all people in the Netherlands who are wrongly accused of inappropriate behavior or rape to go to court, because then you will only make things worse.”

Audience of millions

Maxime’s lawyer Sébas calls it ‘remarkable that this request has been made, given the fact that they have been overactively seeking out the media in recent weeks’.

Peter then: “It is of course very clear that Maxime Meiland has sought an audience of millions for her book and to promote the accusation therein. It is therefore a shame to say that my client overactively sought the media. He gave an interview to Story and De Telegraaf and was photographed with his back.”
