Maxime Meiland did not dare to have a wedding dress made in TV show | Stars

“No, I immediately thought, we are not going to do that wedding dress. I’m having such a hard time with that, let alone at my own wedding!” smiles Meland. She thought the dress for the party in the evening was a safer idea, although there were also some conditions. “The dress had to be comfortable anyway. And a little spin, but also be short. I had seen that on Pinterest, those nice short wedding dresses. And so white, but not too stiff”, sums up the daughter of reality stars Martien and Erica. “And he wasn’t allowed to be too naked, so no very deep cleavage, I don’t like that.”

The 26-year-old Meiland was very surprised with the results from the program, in which a few designers start working for a well-known Dutchman every week from Wednesday onwards, she says. “I thought, Geez, they are all so different! And they weren’t all short either, as I actually requested. But there was one that stood out right away. And I can’t keep that to myself at that moment. Maybe not so much fun for the tension of the program, but I was just really excited!”

Stepmother

The well-known participants in the Net5 program – in addition to Meiland, Bridget Maasland, Heleen van Royen and Giovanca Ostiana also participate – are all allowed to bring someone with them to the pass of the designs. Maxime chose her whole family. „I had brought my father, my mother, my sister and also my mother-in-law. Yes, she does have taste, she knows what I like or not,” says Maxime about Leroy’s mother. “And if my father says: that looks terrible on you, then I won’t do it either.”

The wedding, which took place a few weeks ago, was a hot topic in the showbiz media. The castle was therefore filmed and photographed from a distance by uninvited media. “We really didn’t like that,” Maxime recalls. “When Leroy proposed to me, we already said: fine if the Chateau Meiland team will be at the wedding later, but otherwise no press. And then they are there. I’m very bad at that. I already give so much, I would have liked our big day to have remained a little private.”

The run-up to the wedding of Maxime and her Leroy Molkenboer, who once worked as a cameraman for Chateau Meiland, can be followed on Monday in a new season of Chateau Meiland on SBS6. “This time, Leroy is also much more in the picture, which is very nice. You see us sparring about the wedding, going to dance lessons, tasting cakes and of course choosing the dress. When is the wedding to be seen? I’m thinking somewhere at the end, so just a little patience!”
