Máxima refuses request plate on Radio 538: ‘This is why’

Queen Máxima refused yesterday to request a request picture in the morning show of Radio 538, but why? “They prefer not to say what they love. Not even their favorite food.”

The members of the royal family only appear in the media when they have something boring to say about a good cause; they don’t talk about other occasions. And that’s how it went yesterday when Queen Máxima ‘joined’ in Wietze de Jager’s show on Radio 538. She was a guest there as honorary chairman of Wijzer in Geldzaken.

Kings and Queens

Wietze tried to make it a little more personal at the end of the conversation by asking: “Can I play something for you? We’re a radio show, aren’t we? Maybe Armin van Buuren for example? You have danced to that with your husband. Is there another artist you think we need to hear on 538?”

Máxima then curtly: “No, I’ll leave that to you. Go on with your program.”

Wietze: “Okay, then I’ll go for Kings and Queens. Thank you Queen Máxima.”

‘Don’t they’

Show news presenter Tooske Ragas thinks it’s bland. “I would think: this is just the queen of music. Can you name a song?”

Royalty expert Sam Hoevenaar: “Yes, they prefer not to say what they love. Not even their favorite food or favorite color, because they are really thrown to death afterwards. If they were to say, ‘This is my favorite record, play it,’ then wherever she visits now, they’ll play that song when she arrives.”

Carefully

That’s just really annoying, Sam explains. “And when she says what her favorite food is, she gets it everywhere she goes. They are always a bit careful about that.”

Albert: “Of course she also makes a choice, because if you choose that artist, you also choose a bit against everyone else, like: why that one?”

Show news

The fact that Queen Máxima was a remote guest in the morning show of Radio 538 has passed by most people, but Albert says he received a push notification via the JUKE app.

That was also given to the editors of Shownieuws. “They thought: damn, we have to get there! They ran to the studio and then it turned out that it was a video call.”
