Queen Máxima, daughter Amalia and the rest of their family will receive a fierce Guido den Aantrekker on their roof this Christmas. The Story boss wants a media revolt against the Oranges.
King Willem-Alexander, his wife Máxima and their three daughters pose for the media once or twice every year, so that the magazines’ paparazzi leave them alone the rest of the time. At the same time, there is little that is exclusive about those photo sessions; Everyone takes the same photos and the RVD simply distributes them completely free of charge.
Shameless arrogance
This week the Oranjes had such a get-together again; the winter session took place on the forecourt of Huis ten Bosch Palace. Is everyone happy with that? No, in fact: Story boss Guido den Aantrekker is furious. He was really angry about this yesterday, a few hours before Christmas dinner X.
Guido wants to bring about some kind of media uprising. “It is time that we, as a collective media, no longer lend ourselves to this six-monthly disdain for the general public. If it were up to the Oranjes we financed, this kind of orchestrated dullness would be the only thing we would see from them in private. Shameless arrogance.”
Noblesse oblige
Royalty reporter Josine Droogendijk wonders what exactly Guido wants. “What is your suggestion for a fun winter photo session?”
Guido then indicates that he wants the Oranjes to organize a separate session for each medium, including for his own Story. “Take a few hours and be in the palace. Different positions; a different setting per medium. Doesn’t seem like too much trouble, twice a year. Noblesse oblige.”
Velvet dresses
Josine thinks this is a good idea from her colleague. “With a Christmas tree, velvet dresses and a few cozy candles. I am in favor,” she writes.
According to her, some Scandinavian royal family is doing much better:
Mediacourant wishes you a Merry Christmas! 🎄
