Teammate Sergio Perez, who finished second, said Verstappen was “from another planet”. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz started from pole position and eventually finished third.
“The speed was not there, our tires got hot and we started to slide,” said the Spaniard. ,,For whatever reason, our package was not good enough this weekend. Zandvoort should suit us better next week, we will try to win there.”
