Max Verstappen starts hunting for title prolongation in Bahrain: This is the timetable | Sport

The new era in Formula 1 is in full swing with the Bahrain Grand Prix. A lot will become clear on the Bahrain International Circuit. How are the relationships between Max Verstappen’s Red Bull and Mercedes? Or could teams like McLaren and Ferrari once again compete for the front seats?

Just like last year, Formula 1 will kick off the season in the sandbox, where the first points were awarded in Australia in the years before the corona pandemic. One of the benefits of this for the teams is that they have pretty much all of the equipment in Bahrain already, as they complete three more days of testing at the same track a week earlier.

It will be the eighteenth Bahrain Grand Prix. It took some getting used to from the first time in 2004, what was Formula 1 doing in such a dreary desert state without racing history and passion for the sport? But despite the sometimes empty stands, a modern classic has emerged. Especially after driving under artificial light from 2014, Bahrain offers beautiful pictures and the races are certainly not boring.

What about last year, when Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton gave us a taste of the intense title battle to come. The Dutchman came close to victory but went outside the lines on his ultimate overtake, had to give the team back the position and that ultimately cost him the win. ,,If only I had let me drive, I would rather have suffered a five-second penalty and lost in that way than be second in this way,’ said Verstappen to his team over the on-board radio.
