The World Cup leader spun in turn 2 in the final phase. That was without consequences – Verstappen was able to continue on his way – but just before that he said he had hardly any grip on that intermediate tire. He then set the ninth fastest time, eight tenths behind the fastest man Fernando Alonso. Teammate Sergio Pérez also did not get further than eighth place.
Alonso went around in 1.33,836. Pierre Gasly set the second fastest time, ahead of Sebastian Vettel. Charles Leclerc didn’t get to a timed lap at all in the third practice. The Ferrari driver knows in any case that he will start from the back during the race on Sunday after an engine change.
Qualifying starts on Saturday evening at 10 p.m. Dutch time. There is also a chance of rain. During the race on Sunday (starts at 8 p.m.) it seems to remain dry.
