Max Verstappen is looking forward to a restart: ‘It’s itching again’ | Motorsport

“I’m ready to race after a good holiday,” says the World Cup leader in a preview. “It is definitely itching to start again. It will be immediately busy with three race weekends in a row, but we should be able to manage that now that we have all had a break.”

After the Belgian Grand Prix, the race in Zandvoort follows a week later, followed by the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Verstappen is first of all looking forward to the race at Spa-Francorchamps. “The changes to the track make it a bit more old school with the new gravel pits, which I think are a good idea. It’s my favorite track and it looks like some rain may fall. That makes it a bit more difficult, but luckily we like a challenge as a team.”

With nine races to go, Verstappen has an eighty point lead over Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc.
