The former Bundesliga striker Max Kruse, most recently in the service of VfL Wolfsburg, Union Berlin and Werder Bremen, has positioned himself in a one-two from “Sport1” for participation in TV formats.
What does Max Kruse, who is currently without a club, want to do in the future? One option: Participation in TV shows, with a particular focus on: the jungle camp and celebrity Big Brother.
In addition, Kruse commented on his previously failed return to the Bundesliga and described the North American MLS as an “interesting” alternative.
The RTL jungle camp 2023 has just come to an end: Djamila Rowe was crowned jungle queen at the end. In the future, Max Kruse may also travel to Australia with the aim of winning the title. In the TV show Doppelpass, the currently clubless football professional was asked if he could imagine participating in the jungle camp.
The 34-year-old initially played it down, but could not resist an addition. “If you see me in the jungle camp, then I have money problems,” said Kruse. In principle, however, he is open to participating in other TV formats. For example, he would not want to rule out Celebrity Big Brother, Kruse said.
Just a few days ago, Rio World Champion Kevin Großkreutz put himself in position for the next edition, but his participation was conditional.
Max Kruse is looking for a job
Before Kruse goes on TV, the offensive player wants to kick a little. For which club is unclear. After leaving VfL Wolfsburg, Kruse is still looking for a job – also in the Bundesliga. “Of course I spoke to clubs. It wasn’t always the sporting reason for a rejection,” said Kruse in a one-two. He did not name the clubs.
Reasons for a failed change are also his activities off the pitch. Kruse streams on Twitch, has his own YouTube series “The Kruses” and is also a passionate poker player. That was probably too much for some Bundesliga teams. “Some were afraid to do it,” Kruse said.
The 14-time national player would like to return to the Bundesliga again. “If I ever had the chance to play in the Bundesliga again, I would do it because it was always my dream,” said Kruse. “Purely in terms of my footballing ability”, he would still dare to do that even after several months without team training.
A move abroad, especially to Major League Soccer in the USA and Canada, is more likely. That was “interesting,” said Kruse. “The transfer period is still open until March. Let’s see what else happens and if something else happens.”
The same applies to his future on TV.
