So far, little has happened on the transfer market at Bayern. Now Max Eberl is traveling again – is there anything to announce soon?
Bayern Munich’s sports director Max Eberl flew back to Germany from the club World Cup in the USA at the end of the week. There was no exact reason, but it is probably that it was about possible transfers.
There are “some discussions, then it is in European time. It is currently fits,” said sports director Christoph Freund before the game of the German record champions at the club World Cup against Boca Juniors (2-1) in Miami at DAZN.
Freund did not want to comment on the many speculations, such as Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao. “We do not comment on rumors. It is transfer time. We want to push things forward so that it fits FC Bayern very well,” said Freund. Also when asked whether it will be transfers in the upper category, the Austrian replied evasively: “We have a lot of quality in the team. It has to fit for us, there is one or the other option for us.”
For Lothar Matthäus, on the other hand, the measure is a sign of how big the transfer print is at the record champions. “The departure of Max Eberl from the USA shows that there is a certain nervousness. For Eberl, access to the offensive is more important than the club World Cup,” said the record international of the “Bild”.
Because of the cancellation of Florian Wirtz and the likelihood of Williams to FC Barcelona, ”burns” at Bayern in attack. Especially since Mathys Tel was sold to Tottenham Hotspur and Leroy Sané will switch to Galatasaray. “This transfer becomes very important for Eberl,” said Matthew with a view to the search for a reinforcement for Harry Kane and Co. and the position of the sports director in the club.
“A little,” added Matthew, “reminds the search for a new offensive player to the coaching search last year, including many cancellations – but in the end Bayern succeeded with Kompany.
