Mauro climbs Above The Clouds on Ventoux

From intense happiness Mauro and Jael ended up in immeasurable sorrow. They had received the news that they would become parents to twins Briek and Louis, but both died before birth. The couple was still able to carry the stillborn babies in their arms. Vzw Boven de Wolken made an honest portrait of the family, which left Mauro and Jaël with a wonderful memory. “They really treated them like children,” says mom Jaël. “Carefully, with love, called by name: it was so personal what made it so beautiful.”

Giant of Provence

For that warmth, papa Mauro now wants to return a gift to the charity that supports parents who lose a child at birth. The sporty West Fleming and promise rider aims to climb the Mont Ventoux six times in 24 hours. He will face the ‘giant of Provence’ on each of the three sides. Under that name he also collects money for the non-profit organization Boven de Wolken. He hoped to collect 1500 euros with this, but the counter is already at more than 2200 euros.

Mauro has prepared thoroughly and in the meantime Jaël is also pregnant with a third son.
