There is no chance of competition on Sunday evening: Farmer Searches Woman dominates this TV evening. The dating show was also the big number one yesterday: 2.9 million people (51% market share) watched the broadcast on NPO 1. All other prime-time programs remained below the limit of one million viewers.

Maud and Rob

Which Farmer Wants Woman stars were the most culled on Twitter this Sunday? Albert Verlinde gives the redeeming answer in Shownieuws: candidate Maud and farmer Rob. “It goes so far that there really are death wishes,” says the show expert in a few tweets about Maud.

Albert personally thinks it’s all going a bit far. “Then I think: what makes you want to watch a program, maybe not like someone very much and then think: I’m going to completely destroy it here? That is really something you see a lot.”

He does like Maud himself. “That’s a character and you can tell from the very first moment she comes into the picture. Then I think: well, nice, a character. You can like it or not like it.”

Chopping block

Farmer Rob follows in second place. “Tonight it was suddenly farmer Rob’s turn, because people find him very self-righteous. And then hey presto, he goes with his head on the chopping block!”, says Albert. Ridiculous, he thinks. “We chose to live that life in the spotlight and they’re on a dating show.”

Photographer William Rutten: “Then you choose it, because you know that two million people are watching.”

Albert: “People really underestimate what it means when social media goes wild.”

It also bothers Albert that the media is constantly naming who is under fire on Twitter. “Even if you don’t look on Twitter, there are also many sites and newspapers that write: ‘Hey, this week it was Maud’s turn!’ You find it everywhere.”

Chantal on three

The top three most viewed programs in prime time are completed by NPO 1’s Wie Think Je Wel Dat Je Bent (968 thousand and 21%) and RTL 4’s Beat the Champions (825 thousand and 16%) with presenter Chantal Janzen.

Furthermore, Humberto (734 thousand), Nieuwsuur (723 thousand), Million Dollar Island (500 thousand) and Stegeman op de Bres (361 thousand) were the most popular.

Viewing figures

Programs that (also) did not reach the top fifteen viewing figures include WNL op Zondag (475 thousand), vtwonen (426 thousand), Shownieuws (425 thousand) and Ivo op Zondag (344 thousand).
