Mattie Valk regrets that his face looks a bit more worn out than before. “Yes. I think I got old fast. I just think so.”
The morning show is the most prestigious time of the day for radio DJs to make a broadcast, but if you have to be ready at 6:00 am, you will of course have to get up a lot earlier. Especially Mattie Valk, because he lives in Rotterdam and the Qmusic studio is in Amsterdam. And you can now see that from him, he says himself.
Got old fast
Mattie regularly looks at his old photos, he confesses Qmusic. “Yes. I think I got old fast. I just think so. I really think so. I then look at about five or six years ago.”
Co-host Marieke Elsinga: “Describe the emotion and the feeling it evokes in you.”
Mattie: “That I just think: if only I still looked like this. If only I had that skin. And the funny thing is, of course you know: in five or six years’ time you will look at photos from today and you will think exactly the same. I can console myself with that, but I think it’s going hard. I just think so. don’t you have that?”
Marieke is satisfied
Marieke is happy with how she looks now. “Well, I look at photos from ten years ago and I think: I look better now. I’m 36 now and then 26. I just think I have a nicer style, I’m a little slimmer than ten years ago, my eyebrows are better.”
Mattie: “I agree. Only if you look purely at my face, then there is a lot in it. Lived…”
Marieke: “Is that bad? I don’t mind that much. You’re always so bad at it.”
Mattie: “Well, I don’t necessarily look bad, but I like to look younger.”
