Mattie Valk does not think that Marieke Elsinga will abandon him and suddenly leave for Radio 538 with a cleverly negotiated contract. “He really hasn’t heard anything about this at all.”
Marieke Elsinga announced two weeks ago that she will not be heard in the morning of Qmusic for the time being, because she almost ran into a burnout. Her announcement followed the day after the rumors that she would secretly work on a switch to competitor Radio 538, where she would present the afternoon show.
Marieke denies
Marieke’s sudden departure therefore led to a lot of speculation, but her manager repeats at The Telegraph that there is still no question of a Q-exit. “As far as the rumors about 538 are concerned: Marieke is very much at home at Qmusic, there is absolutely no question of a switch. She doesn’t plan to do that in the coming years.”
How is Mary doing now? “Marieke is enjoying the peace and quiet and doing fun things. If you want to know when she’s coming back, you should keep listening to music.”
Mattie responds
Her radio colleague Mattie Valk says she is not worried about anything either. “I also called Mattie and he says that he is fully committed to this,” says Telegraaf journalist Jordi Versteegden. He really hasn’t heard anything about this at all. He will miss her.”
Jordi also misses Marieke as a listener. “I listen to Mattie and Marieke every morning and I only now notice what a good duo they really were. I sincerely hope that Marieke is doing well and that she returns soon.”
