Matti Suur-Hamari is Dancing with the Stars -the first dancer of the competition with a prosthetic leg.

The snowboarder said that before his dance, he bumped his dance teacher with his carbon fiber spring prosthesis Katri Riihilahtea in training.

However, the quickstep of the live broadcast went well. They got I’m So Excited 23 points for his rhythmic dance.

– We saw something incredible, judge Jukka Haapalainen praised.

– Super good, Helena Ahti-Hallberg summed it up.

Both Helena and Jukka gave 8 points each, while Jorma Uotinen gave 7 points.

Suur-Hamari’s left leg has been amputated from the knee down. He lost his leg in 2009 in a motorcycle accident. For years, Suur-Hamari created a successful snowboarding career in disabled categories, until he announced about a year ago that he was ending his racing career.
