It may well be the worst weekend in Matthijs van Nieuwkerk’s life: tomorrow the Volkskrant will finally slaughter him. And that was already predicted. “He’s so creepy!”
The whole of Hilversum holds its breath. Will we lose one of the country’s biggest TV stars to the cancel corner tomorrow? It will become apparent early in the morning, when the long-awaited and allegedly shocking Volkskrant investigation into Matthijs van Nieuwkerk is published in the newspaper.

The fall of Matthijs was predicted long ago, the Story writes this week. In 2007, De Viva let a whole series of former mistresses of the De Wereld Draait Door presenter speak and they were anything but lenient. One already predicted that he would fall through the basket at some point.
This ex-mistress: “He’s so creepy. He lies everything together, about simple things, but also about heavy things. If you lie to your wife, your mistresses and also to all the other people around you, you have to fall through the cracks.”
Through the basket
That moment has now arrived, according to the Story. “That moment seems imminent: in recent months, de Volkskrant has been working on a damning article about Matthijs and has certainly not failed in the area of due care; after all, the article has been in the works for months.”
