It is not very common for a 61-year-old man to wear caps all the time, but the cap has suddenly become Matthijs van Nieuwkerk’s favorite fashion item. Why is that? According to the juice channel The Media Girls angry tongues claim that he has undergone a real hair transplant.

Matthijs surprises many people with his sudden pet use, says Tamar Bot, who is also active as an editor for Media Inside in addition to the Media Girls podcast. “We’ve had multiple messages from listeners who thought he might be wearing that cap because he might have had a hair transplant.”
Her colleague Fanny van de Reijt: “Yes, those people did say: ‘I know you are not a juice channel.’”
Tamar: “Yes, so I also want to say: I don’t care if he has had a hair transplant, I wouldn’t find out either, and we didn’t try to find out either.”
Hear and hear each other
The girls of De Mediameiden did not hear each other. Fanny: “We didn’t call clinics in Turkey.”
Tamar: “Absolutely not.”
Fanny: “I don’t think he did a hair transplant anyway. I just want to be very clear about that.”
Tamar: “Me neither. I think he just likes that cap and thinks it’s a style thing.”
A lot of hair
For someone with so much hair, a hair transplant is not at all obvious, says Fanny. “Matthijs van Nieuwkerk is a real celebrity with a lot of hair.”
Tamar: “I do want to say: if he has done it or still wants to do it in the future, I will not judge it. I can do that.”
Fanny: “He is good friends with Özcan Akyol and he has never made a secret of the fact that he has done a hair transplant.”
Tamar: “A lot of men, huh? Tim Hoffman, Arjen Lubach. But I don’t think Matthijs and that cap just suits him really well.”
